Old Town and New Town of Dresden... 2 sides of the same coin...

In 2012 we spend Christmas / Weihnachten in Dresden and had our family dinner in an Irish Pub in Old Town! We had a really 'lekker' meal and continued our day visiting the Kreuzkirche Dresden, followed by the Frauen Kirche. Outside of the Frauen Kirche, there was a little girl (with a big voice) singing in the square with whom I assumed was her father. It gave me chills listening to their duo. I'll post a small clip of them singing.

Concluding our day and unfortunately our time in Dresden, we walked along the Elbe River, enjoying the Christmas markets between the river and the churches. It made for such a peaceful afternoon with amazing architecture surrounding us. Not even photos can capture it.

From the cities/towns I've visited in Germany so far, my favourite would be Dresden, followed by Riesa. As to why they're my favourite I'll need more time to dissect.

With Riesa being a small town and close to Dresden, it made a perfect day-trip via train. How I love travelling by train! I'll do so whenever I get a chance.

On another trip I've stayed in Riesa for about a week - but that's a story for another post.
